A festive and easy-to-assemble patriotic charcuterie board arranged in a star shape, perfect for summer celebrations and crowd-pleasing gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Large wooden or marble serving board (star-shaped if available, or rectangular with a star template)
  • Parchment paper to help with shaping
  • Sharp white cheddar, sliced
  • Soft goat cheese logs
  • Blue cheese crumbles
  • Fresh mozzarella balls or bocconcini
  • Sliced salami (good quality like Fiorucci)
  • Mini pepperoni rounds
  • Prosciutto strips, loosely folded
  • Strawberries, halved or sliced
  • Blueberries
  • Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • Mini cucumbers or celery sticks
  • Red grapes
  • Assorted crackers (water crackers and multigrain)
  • Almonds or pecans
  • Olives, preferably Kalamata
  • Honey or fig jam (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Board: Place your serving board on a steady surface. If you don’t have a star-shaped board, lay down parchment paper and trace a star outline to use as a guide.
  2. Arrange the Cheeses: Place larger cheese pieces first to form the star’s base. Lay out slices of sharp white cheddar along the edges of the star points, place soft goat cheese logs in the center, and dot blue cheese crumbles in small clusters.
  3. Add Meats: Tuck folded prosciutto strips in the star’s valleys, arrange salami and pepperoni slices overlapping slightly inside the star points.
  4. Place Fruits and Veggies: Fill gaps with strawberries, blueberries, and cherry tomato halves. Scatter blueberries in inner sections and add mini cucumbers or celery sticks along the edges.
  5. Add Snacks and Extras: Use small bowls for olives and nuts, place them strategically around the star or inside points. Fill remaining spaces with assorted crackers, layering some upright. Optionally, add honey or fig jam near the center.
  6. Final Touches: Check for balance and adjust overcrowded sections or colors. Use tweezers or small tongs to reposition nuts or berries for symmetry. Keep cold items chilled until just before serving.

Notes

Keep cold items chilled until just before serving to keep cheeses firm and fruits fresh. Assemble delicate fruits and crackers last if prepping ahead. Use parchment paper to trace star shape if no star board is available. Serve cheeses at room temperature for best flavor.
