A theatrical, non-alcoholic green punch featuring swirling fog effects created by dry ice, perfect for Halloween parties and spooky gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 quart (950 ml) chilled limeade
  • 2 liters (67 fl oz) chilled lemon-lime soda
  • 12 teaspoons green food coloring
  • 12 pounds (450900 g) food-grade dry ice
  • Standard ice cubes
  • Lime wheels, green gummy worms, or edible glitter for garnish

Instructions

  1. Chill the limeade thoroughly before mixing.
  2. Place a Styrofoam cooler or small container inside the punch bowl to hold the dry ice separately.
  3. Add dry ice chunks to the Styrofoam container using oven mitts or tongs.
  4. In a large pitcher, combine chilled limeade and green food coloring, stirring until uniform.
  5. Add lemon-lime soda to the pitcher last to preserve carbonation.
  6. Pour the limeade and soda mixture into the punch bowl around the dry ice container.
  7. Fill the punch bowl with regular ice cubes, leaving space around the dry ice container.
  8. Garnish with lime wheels or gummy worms, avoiding the dry ice container.
  9. Serve immediately, ladling punch from the main bowl to avoid scooping up dry ice.

Notes

Handle dry ice with oven mitts or tongs; never touch with bare hands. Keep dry ice in a separate container to prevent freezing the punch or safety hazards. Work in a well-ventilated area as dry ice releases carbon dioxide gas. Do not seal dry ice in airtight containers. The fog effect lasts 2-4 hours depending on insulation and ambient temperature.
