A simple, festive Halloween cocktail with vodka, fresh orange juice, and sparkling apple cider, featuring spooky blackberry ice cubes and a gummy worm garnish. It’s quick to make and perfect for parties or scary movie marathons.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka per drink
  • 3 oz fresh orange juice per drink
  • 3 oz sparkling apple cider per drink
  • Blackberries (for ice cubes)
  • Gummy worms (for garnish)
  • Ice (regular cubes)
  • Orange slices (for garnish)
  • Optional: 1/2 oz simple syrup per drink

Instructions

  1. Make the blackberry ice cubes at least 4 hours ahead or overnight: Place 2-3 blackberries in each compartment of an ice cube tray, fill with water, and freeze until solid.
  2. Prep your glasses: Slice oranges into thin rounds, cut a small slit in each slice so it can sit on the rim, and refrigerate.
  3. Chill your ingredients: Refrigerate vodka, orange juice, and sparkling cider for about 30 minutes before serving.
  4. Assemble the drink: Fill a glass halfway with regular ice cubes, then add 2-3 blackberry ice cubes on top.
  5. Pour 2 oz vodka over the ice slowly.
  6. Add 3 oz fresh orange juice.
  7. Slowly pour 3 oz sparkling apple cider down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation.
  8. Stir gently once or twice with a long spoon or straw.
  9. Garnish with an orange slice on the rim and drop a gummy worm into the drink.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, use fresh orange juice and chill all ingredients beforehand. The blackberry ice cubes can be made weeks in advance and stored in a freezer bag. If making a batch, mix vodka and orange juice ahead, then add sparkling cider just before serving. For a non-alcoholic version, skip the vodka and double the sparkling cider.
