This easy honey garlic salmon in foil packets is a quick, foolproof weeknight dinner that delivers tender, flaky salmon coated in a sticky-sweet garlic glaze. Ready in under 20 minutes with minimal cleanup, it’s perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: sliced green onions, sesame seeds, fresh lemon juice for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Let salmon sit at room temperature for 10 minutes, then pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Season salmon lightly with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, melted butter, and olive oil until smooth.
  4. Tear off four large sheets of aluminum foil (about 12 inches each). Place one salmon fillet in the center of each sheet.
  5. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of glaze over each fillet, spreading evenly with a brush or spoon.
  6. Fold foil over salmon to create a sealed packet, leaving a little space for steam circulation.
  7. Place packets on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until salmon flakes easily with a fork (internal temperature 145°F/63°C).
  8. Carefully open packets to release steam. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes for extra caramelization.
  9. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and lemon juice if desired. Serve directly from foil or transfer to plates.

Notes

Pat salmon dry for best texture. Start checking doneness at 12 minutes. Double the glaze if you want extra sauce. For a crowd, use two baking sheets or cook in batches.
