Crispy Mummy Pigs in a Blanket: Easy Halloween Party Snacks

A quick and spooky Halloween snack featuring pork sausages wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, baked until golden brown and decorated with mustard seed eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Mini pork sausages or cocktail wieners (or standard hot dogs cut into thirds)
  • 1 tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • Mustard seeds (for eyes)
  • Melted butter (optional, for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and press seams together to form a rectangle. If warm, chill for 5 minutes.
  4. Cut dough into strips approximately 1 inch wide.
  5. Wrap each strip around a sausage, overlapping slightly to create a bandage look, leaving a gap at the top for eyes.
  6. Press mustard seeds into the gap at the top of each mummy.
  7. Brush the wrapped sausages evenly with the egg wash.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is puffed and golden brown.
  9. Cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Brush with melted butter if desired.

Notes

Keep the dough cold to prevent sticking. If the dough tears, patch it with a small piece. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free crescent dough. Avoid microwaving leftovers as it makes the dough soggy; reheat in the oven instead.
