A creamy, lightly sweet iced espresso drink made with brown sugar and oat milk, shaken to frothy perfection. This easy homemade version captures the cozy, indulgent feel of the Starbucks favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots (about 60 ml or 2 fl oz) freshly brewed espresso (or strong brewed coffee/cold brew concentrate)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (dark or light)
  • 1 cup (240 ml or 8 fl oz) creamy oat milk (barista-style recommended)
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups ice cubes
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brew your espresso shots: Use 2 shots (about 60 ml or 2 fl oz) of freshly brewed espresso. Let it cool slightly for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add brown sugar and vanilla extract (if using): Pour the warm espresso into your cocktail shaker or mason jar. Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract.
  3. Shake vigorously with ice: Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes, seal tightly and shake hard for 15-20 seconds until frothy and chilled.
  4. Pour into your serving glass: Fill a glass with fresh ice cubes. Strain or pour the shaken espresso mixture over the ice.
  5. Add oat milk: Slowly pour 1 cup (240 ml or 8 fl oz) of creamy oat milk over the espresso mixture.
  6. Give a gentle stir (optional) to blend layers or leave as is for an ombré look.
  7. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon for best frothy, creamy texture.

Notes

Use freshly brewed espresso for best flavor. Shake vigorously to create frothy texture and dissolve brown sugar. Adjust sweetness to taste. For dairy-free, use oat milk or almond milk. For keto, replace brown sugar with monk fruit sweetener. Serve immediately for best frothiness.
