A quick and easy kid-friendly snack featuring fresh strawberries dipped in creamy Greek yogurt and frozen to create a silky, tangy shell. Perfect for a wholesome treat that kids love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, medium-sized, ripe but firm, washed and dried thoroughly
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Chopped nuts or sprinkles (optional toppings)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries gently under cold water and pat dry very well with a clean towel. Leave the green leafy tops on for easy handling or remove if preferred.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup. Stir until smooth and creamy. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. If using chopped nuts or sprinkles, place them in small shallow dishes for easy dipping later.
  4. Using a spoon or toothpick, dip each strawberry into the yogurt mixture, coating evenly but not too thickly. Let excess yogurt drip off before placing the berry on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Optionally, roll or sprinkle the coated strawberry in your choice of toppings immediately after dipping.
  6. Place the tray flat in the freezer and freeze for at least 2 hours until the yogurt is completely set and firm to the touch.
  7. Remove the frozen yogurt-dipped strawberry bites carefully and serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 days.

Notes

Dry strawberries thoroughly before dipping to prevent icy clumps. Use Greek yogurt for a thicker, creamier coating. Keep yogurt layer thin to avoid cracking. Freeze for at least 2 hours but not more than 3 hours for best texture. Optional toppings add fun texture and visual appeal. Can substitute dairy-free yogurt for dairy-sensitive diets.
