A quick and easy savory snack mix combining crunchy pretzels and roasted nuts with a perfectly balanced seasoning, ideal for parties and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (300 g) mini pretzels or pretzel sticks
  • 2 cups (250 g) mixed roasted almonds, cashews, and pecans
  • 4 tablespoons (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups (300 g) of mini pretzels and 2 cups (250 g) of mixed roasted nuts (almonds, cashews, and pecans).
  3. Melt 4 tablespoons (60 g) of unsalted butter gently in a small saucepan over low heat or in the microwave in 30-second bursts until just melted, not browned.
  4. Whisk into the melted butter 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper if you like heat.
  5. Pour the butter and seasoning mixture over the pretzels and nuts. Toss gently but thoroughly until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Spread the coated snack mix in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15–18 minutes, stirring once halfway through to ensure even toasting.
  7. If desired, sprinkle 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese over the mix right after baking and toss gently to coat while still warm.
  8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the snack mix cool completely on the sheet to crisp up.
  9. Once cooled, transfer to an airtight container or serve immediately for the freshest crunch.

Notes

Keep an eye on the mix during baking to prevent burning; stir halfway through for even toasting. Use fresh nuts for best flavor. For gluten-free, substitute pretzels with gluten-free pretzels or crunchy roasted chickpeas. For dairy-free, replace butter with coconut oil or non-dairy spread and omit Parmesan cheese. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks; avoid refrigeration to maintain crunch.
