These chocolate dipped pretzel rods combine salty crunch with rich chocolate and fun toppings, making a quick, easy, and thoughtful gift perfect for teacher appreciation or any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pretzel rods (sturdy, thick rods recommended)
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips or melting chocolate
  • Optional toppings: colored sprinkles, crushed nuts (almonds or peanuts), mini chocolate chips, white chocolate drizzle, sea salt flakes
  • Optional add-ins: shredded coconut, crushed candy canes, finely chopped dried fruit

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and setting out toppings in small bowls.
  2. Melt 8 ounces of chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  3. Dip each pretzel rod about two-thirds of the way into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  4. Immediately sprinkle chosen toppings over the wet chocolate.
  5. Place dipped pretzels on the parchment-lined baking sheet and let set at room temperature or refrigerate for 15-20 minutes until hardened.
  6. Optional: Melt 2 ounces of white or contrasting chocolate and drizzle over hardened rods using a piping bag or ziplock bag. Let set again.
  7. Once fully hardened, wrap individually or package for gifting.

Notes

Use short microwave bursts of 20 seconds with stirring to avoid overheating chocolate. Work quickly when adding toppings before chocolate sets. Store dipped pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or refrigerate for up to two weeks. Bring refrigerated pretzels back to room temperature before serving to avoid condensation.
